Forty Common Stains and How To Remove Them

Animal Stains

  1. RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
  2. Sour Solution consisting of one part white vinegar and one part water.
  3. Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.

Ballpoint Ink

  1. Dry Cleaning Solvent… any approved consumer brand. (Available at RAM.)

Beer

  1. RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
  2. Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.

Blood*

  1. RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
  2. Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.

* Apply cold water first and blot up as much as possible.

Carbon Black

Car Oil or Grease

Chewing Gum**

  1. Dry Cleaning Solvent… any approved consumer brand. (Available at RAM.)
    ** Chill gum first with ice cubes. Scrape up hard excess; apply dry-cleaning solvent.
