Forty Common Stains and How To Remove Them
Animal Stains
- RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
- Sour Solution consisting of one part white vinegar and one part water.
- Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.
Ballpoint Ink
- Dry Cleaning Solvent… any approved consumer brand. (Available at RAM.)
Beer
- RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
- Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.
Blood*
- RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
- Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.
* Apply cold water first and blot up as much as possible.
Carbon Black
- RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
- Dry Cleaning Solvent… any approved consumer brand. (Available at RAM.)
Car Oil or Grease
- Dry Cleaning Solvent… any approved consumer brand. (Available at RAM.)
Catsup
- RAM Spot-Lifter or detergent solution, consisting of a dry powder detergent mixed 1 tablespoon to a pint of water. Do NOT use liquid detergent.
- Baking Soda or House Hold Salt – If stain is still visible, then put 1/2 inch layer over stained area; allow to dry and vacuum off.
Chewing Gum**
- Dry Cleaning Solvent… any approved consumer brand. (Available at RAM.)
** Chill gum first with ice cubes. Scrape up hard excess; apply dry-cleaning solvent.
